The passenger ferry was heading to Phi Phi Island in May 1997, when a navigational error took it miles away from its correct course. As a result, the ship collided with the Anemone Reef, tearing a huge hole in its bottom. Despite rescue attempts, the ship sunk within two hours and now lies in a depth of about 30 meters. All passengers and crew on board were rescued, and there were no casualities.
